Pinterest Super Saturday Party!

I know you wanna be crafty ladies have a stash of supplies for a Pinterest project you were going to do...but life got in the way and you never got around to it. Am I right? Well this Pinterest Party is the perfect day to tackle something you've been wanting to do. Our workshop will be open all day Saturday for your crafting needs! 

Participants at this event are welcome to come and go between 9am -9pm and craft at their leisure on their own projects. There will be light snacks and beverages provided along with the use of our basic shop tools and supplies (paint brushes, hot glue guns, drills, hammers etc.) You also get the assistance of our fabulous crew to guide you on any challenging aspects of your projects. We want to help you bring pins to life!

B.Y.O.F. {Bring your own Furniture} Workshop

It's a party - a B.Y.O.F. Party! That's right, after many requests for this type of workshop it's HERE in NW Arkansas. You can create a custom-looking furniture piece in just a few hours with paint and a little elbow grease. So hunt down your perfect piece & get ready to become a refinishing expert. 

Bring a furniture piece that you are able to carry by yourself – such as a small dresser, bookshelf, chair, side table, etc. We do provide help loading the day of the workshop, but please limit the size of your piece. Furniture must be in good condition, if you have specific questions on what works best please email me katie@2katiedesigns.com. 

Here are some great examples of acceptable projects for this workshop setting:

We will cover:

• How to make & apply chalk paints
• Sanding & Prepping furniture
• 2 Color Distressing
• Smooth, Modern Finishing
• Aging/Distresed Finishing
• Proper Waxing for durability

You’ll get to take home all of your completed sample boards along with your completed furniture piece.

Workshop Details: Workshop includes a consultation with J2J about your specific project & paint colors, prior to class. Instruction during the workshop, along with all your paint & supplies. We provide lunch/dinner and drinks as well. 

We will be available to answer any questions you may have as you finish your piece of furniture with paint & waxes. Classes are limited to 12 participants, so everyone gets in depth instruction with our crew. 

You simply show up with your piece of furniture, wearing your painting clothes, and be ready to make junque into a jewel!

CHALK PAINTING 101

J2J is proud to host the creative ladies from Rustic Soul. These two are going to ROCK your painting world with a new chalk paint product that will change how you view DIY projects! These experts in furniture refinishing, with the motto- REstyle, REpurpose, REfunk - will give you the peak behind the curtain to how they make old junk look junque fabulous. There workshop will be 2 hours of painting exploration & you will get hands-on use of different products including paints, tools & waxing. Leave empowered to tackle all your furniture with CHALK PAINT. Home make over here you come!

April Sewing Classes

OPEN SEWING

Bring your sewing machine and unfinished sewing projects, or a new project on Pinterest you're dying to re-create. The sewing pro from Darling Livi will be there to help. 

Snacks & Drinks are provided. We also have door prizes & a nifty coin purse make in take project.

BEGINNER SEWING SERIES

Perfect if you want to learn to sew! Becky from Darling Livi for this 4 part Beginner Sewing Class series.

  

This class is a four session class that introduces beginners to the basics of sewing: using the sewing machine, understanding the pattern, sewing terms, cutting, marking, current construction methods, pressing, and using tools and notions. Sessions consist of a lecture-demonstration, with workshop time and individual instruction.

  

You will create two projects. A tote bag to carry your sewing projects in and an apron.

 

 We will have sewing machines available or you can bring your own. 

Kit will contain: patterns and fabric for both projects, fabric scissors, seam ripper, tape measure, glass head pins, a seam gauge, hand sewing needles, marking pen and the book

it's coming...a weekend all about MAKERS! we will MAKE with our hands. we will MAKE crafty friends. we will MAKE our souls happy doing what we were MADE to do.

I'm overjoyed! This event has been in my heart for so long & it is coming to fruition. Making things is my passion – I am forever tattooed with the word CREATE because it’s such a big part of who I am & my dreams. My biggest dream is to share the magic in creativity with YOU!

I dream that creative woman can do impossible things,

that there is enough light in the world for each one of us 

to sparkle & shine.

I believe possibilities are endless

when we follow our own path

and the magic that follows when we wander our own way.

EVERYONE is welcome at our SECOND PINTEREST PARTY!
You're invited to come make: REPURPOSED Frames with us this month!

Senario #1 You go about your busy life and never make any of those above things you pin!

Senerio #2 You push the JOIN button right now and plan to get together with your awesome Pretty Pinterest Party gals once a month and bring a bottle of wine, a can of Diet Coke, and maybe even a bag of Taco Bell (okay that's what I would bring)... you get the idea...and you actually MAKE one or two of those Pinterest projects!

Pretty Pinterest Party - SUPPLIES LIST

The project preffered by most party goers is the Tiered trays or platters project! Here details for gathering your supplies. Please email me with ANY questions katie@2katiedesigns.com

Pretty Pinterest Party goers – we have our first project decided and are set to get our craft on Tuesday, April 3rd. We can start around 6pm and hopefully complete our project within a couple hours. It’s very casual so if you want to head over when you get off work, or bring dinner with you do so! No rules here – just a good time making pretty schtuff.

Our first project will be tiered cake trays or pedestal platters. There are a variety of options for these types of trays so I created a supply list for two basic versions. You can bring stuff for both and tackle two projects (perhaps one for you and one for ...a gift?) Or focus on one for the evening. 

ALSO - I will be providing supplies for an extra fun photo project we can do while our other project is drying. Please bring a frame worthy 4x6 photo and you will leave with a crafty photo display for your house!

OPTION #1 - Burner Covers Tiered Tray

 Supplies:
• 3 staggered sizes oven burner covers (stocked at Wal-Mart, dollar stores or available at thrift stores perhaps)
• Scrapbook paper – either 3 of the same or 3 different corrdinating ones to differenciate the layers.
• Wood Spindles (available at Hobby Lobby, and perhaps Lowe’s?)
• E 6000 Glue

OPTION #2 – Cake Pan/Pie Tins Tiered Tray Example from http://www.maryjanesandgaloshes.com/

Supplies:
• 3 staggered sizes oven cake pans or Pie tins (stocked at Wal-Mart, or old ones from thrift stores perhaps)
• Wood, Brass or Crystal candle stick holders from thrift store or crystal candle stick holders from the dollar store will work.
• Desired Spray paint color (Rustoleum brand will adhere best to the brass or crystal candlestick surfaces!)
• E 6000 Glue

I've created a FB event called "Pretty Pinterest Party" , set a date of April 3rd and I'd love for any ladies to JOIN! You may even already have an invitation waiting for you! Hopefully you have other crafty friends or wanna be crafters you can bring along with you - feel free to share  -the more the merrier! I will host at our Junque 2 Jewels workshop space which is perfect for whatever craft we can dream up.
